[ad_1]

Today’s topic is a friend who accepted an interim management position. What’s that? Therefore, interim management is becoming more and more prevalent in current recruitment. It is more for the more mature professional. So someone can be at the end of their career and wants to accept a hug, a new challenge.

Basically, in a nutshell, break it down to the basics. It’s a temporary leadership position where your skill set and each one you’re watching today and replay have a particular niche, you need a particular skill set for a particular time. It may not be available internally or they may want to bring in an external expert.

To shake up the business. And that’s what many interim-management executive recruiters look for in their tenure. So normally the, the, the. The appointment is for quick change, quick action. So someone who’s very passive probably couldn’t fill an executive management, interim management position.

So basically it’s a temporary leadership position with a particular, specific and often very challenging and demanding mandate. Therefore, you can arrive at short notice without the chains of full employment. So to give you an example of full-time executive recruiters, executive recruiting, and interim interim management, we’ll talk about getting into interim interim management in a couple of minutes.

They have called me at eight at night, eight at night, and they want me to go with my information. To see if I have a CF or a CEO or a COO because they want to start the next day or the next Monday. It’s that fast. It’s not like normal executive recruiting, so it might be. Call this afternoon to get started tomorrow, Thursday or Friday, or sometime next week.

So it’s a very, very quick process. It happens so quickly because interim management like a SAP is required, so it is to meet a particular and often very demanding and challenging mandate. Maybe a disease. Someone from an executive has fallen ill or gone on maternity leave. So it is, it is, it is to fulfill a particular and precise mandate.

Could be very crisis management oriented. It could be for a major restructuring or a turnaround where they want someone to come in with fresh blood, fresh minds to look at the business and. Act decisively. Maybe not something for an internal candidate. So think about whether you are going to opt for interim management.

Think about that challenge because it can be very demanding. Now, does anyone have any comments, any questions, not just related to today’s topic, but could be related to career management. Please put them in the comments and I’ll answer them as I go. So I see the interim management growing in stature.

There are many more corporations, companies around the world, not just here in Canada, but all over the world, looking for interim management executives. As I say, there are more people at the executive level and at the later end of their career with a specific skill set, a specific role, a specific silo.

So the tenure can be anywhere from a few weeks to sometimes you leave if you’ve done a good job, they can fire someone internally or there’s already a slot to fill and it can end up as a permanent position. So I’ve seen a lot of my clients take interim management positions. He is listed as a leader for a permanent position, but it may only be for a few weeks.

Some people go from one interim administration to the next, to the next, to the next. They don’t want to go back to work full time, to a full time job. They like that challenge that makes their blood grow. There is a lot of adrenaline because there is a demand, but it can also be very, very beneficial financially.

So they tend to pay above the normal rate. And of course, you’re not an employee, so you’re a contract employee, so you’ll be entitled to more money. So yeah, it can be very, very, very financially rewarding. And it can also be very negotiable. So you’ll start at a certain level and then maybe get, if you act and do this, and do that part of the mandate, then it hurts more.

Therefore, you need to be very aware of what your mandate and milestones are in order to earn a higher salary as you achieve that goal. Please feel free if anyone has any questions. I am more than happy to answer them. So yes, it can be very rewarding financially. Now how do you get those jobs?

Well, they don’t normally advertise on job boards. In fact, very few jobs, if you’ve been listening to me on Tuesdays at two and you watch my YouTube channel, are advertised anyway, now they usually come through executive recruiters. About five or six years ago, I only knew three or four or five interim managers, executive recruiters.

Now I know many, many, many in various cities around the world, a lot in the world. Executive recruitment firms and major national executive search firms have now appointed executive recruiters, specifically nothing else to do specifically in interim management. And your job, your mandate is to go and find them, get interim candidates in quickly.

Like I said, a few minutes ago, quick. It could be a date starting tomorrow morning. Is that. So there are a lot of executive recruiters in interim management. That’s all they do. They don’t do it full time, but they work at the same company at the same recruiting firm. Therefore, they are not normally advertised normally.

It’s very niche recruiting and that’s how you’ll get your next job if you’re an interim manager. So it’s all career management. I’ve been speaking many, many times, every Tuesday at two, and all my other presentations are about relationship management. So if you’re contemplating the interim administration, maybe later this year or next, start building relationships with the executive recruiters in the interim administration now, because that doesn’t happen overnight, but recruiting happens the overnight and it’s fast.

Really is. So there are specific executive recruiters. So if you are interested, please call the front desk and ask for the name of the executive recruiter who specializes in interim interim management. And then see if you can get your foot in the door and name him in your home database. So when there’s something that’s available with your skill set, your.
